So, if you haven't guessed by the lack of postings on our blog, my final semester of school started. The biggest bit of news since last the last blog entry is that Madison turned three. This is a big deal in a young child's life, and though she is not usually aware of the daily date, she definitely knew when it was September 1st. On the morning of her birthday, I met Madison walking down the stairs announcing, "I'm three!" Though her parents attempted to keep her birthday low key, her grandparents, who were in town, insured it was done right. On the actual day of her birthday, my mother had two of Madison's friends over and spent the day doing arts and crafts with them.
Shelly who was in San Diego all weekend coordinating her final wedding of the season, flew back that afternoon and we had a family birthday dinner for M. The following day, was spent . . .I was back in school, so I actually don't know how it was spent but that night we had the Gallo family over for a big dinner, which her friends and she took the liberty to open presents while the grown-ups were eating dinner on the deck.
The two day birthday extravaganza culminated with a birthday cake that lingered around the house for a week longer. Overall, it was a good birthday for a three year old, lots of activities, lots of friends and family, some presents, and a big cake at the end.
