Ugh...Ugh

So yesterday morning Madison, Shelly, and I were sitting in the kitchen eating breakfast when Madison suddenly started crying, "My boo boo, my boo boo!" Followed by, "Daddy kiss it, kiss my boo boo." She often has a "boo boo," imaginary or real, which she wants me to kiss, so I passively glanced up from the paper, telling her that of course I would kiss her boo boo if she just showed me where. She stuck out her tongue for she had bitten it! Ugh, "Have your mom kiss it," I told her.

The other funny boo boo story was when she slipped down the stairs. She got up crying, "my butt! my butt! Mama kiss my butt!" I started rolling. What is funnier is that I think she was trying to say "bottom" not "butt", but to watch her running to Shelly holding her bottom and asking her to kiss it was priceless. I wish I had a video camera.

We got our Christmas tree this past weekend. We actually went to a local farm and "cut" our own tree. I say "cut" but all we really did was pick it out and one of the teenage guys working there cut it down. I guess in day of lawsuits, unless you own your own forest to cut your tree down from, there is too much liability to entrust a saw to a costumer. The tree is okay -actually Shelly hates it. The farm sold imported trees from Canada, which look like the trees sold at the mall parking lot -big, and fluffy. The trees the farm sold more closely resembled Charlie Brown's Christmas tree, but after living in San Diego for three years and only getting our Christmas trees from the Target parking lot, we felt it was our duty as parents to "cut" down a tree. Our tree is some type of spruce and is extremely prickly. I felt like I was dressing a cactus when we were putting on the ornaments. We also had to cut a foot off the bottom and a foot of the top just to get it to fit in the house, but my view is this is probably the biggest house we will live in for a long time, so we might as well go big on the tree.
