Kate's binki addiction is worse than we expected.
Yes, that is a Cabbage Patch Kid's pacifier in Kate's mouth. As we try everything to ween Kate from her addiction, she has found other ways to get her fix, even at the expense of her doll.
As for Madison, the picture is of Daisy, her dog. Madison recently had an argument with Shelly over taking Daisy to Thanksgiving. Madison's initially responded to Shelly's no with "It's my dog and I can decide if I want to take her or not!" Shelly then tried a new approach. Thinking Madison attributed characteristics of a live pet to Daisy, Shelly told her that Daisy needed to stay back and guard the house. To this, Madison responded, "Mom, Daisy isn't a real dog. She can't guard the house." I lost it and had to leave the room. Shelly did not know what to say.
