My mom and dad came to visit this weekend, which gave Shelly and I a chance to depart the pattern on Saturday. Shelly and I went to the D.C. and spent the day having eyebrows waxed, shopping at Banana Republic's 40% off sale, and eating lunch and dinner without children at the table. It was a nice, and much needed, day.
Of course, the Girls didn't miss us. Madison and my mom spent the day playing tea party, while my father crawled around on the floor with Kate. In fact, the following morning Madison asked Shelly, "Don't yo have somewhere to go?" When Shelly said "no," M asked, "why not?"
Otherwise, it drizzled all weekend, but that did not stop Shelly and my father from spending a couple of hours on Sunday working in the yard -something we have done a lot of for the last recently with the help and direction of our neighbors. They are somewhat of yard Nazis. Of course, I already got poison ivy on both forearms, which itches unbelievably and cannot go away fast enough. So now my arms are pink with Calamine lotion.
