So, our new computer has Vista on it, and it is pretty much like the Apple commercial depicts it. Every time you go to a new website, or try to upload a file, or pretty much do anything, there is a pop-up asking you if you really want to do the next, potentially disastrous thing, which could cause your computer to explode or something. This is annoying, but after a while, you don't even notice the extra clicks to close all the warning pop-ups. Ironically, some needed pop-ups, like replies to emails, which will not pop-up.
Anyway, as great as Microsoft's apparent security is, I really wanted something a little more trustworthy, so yesterday, after some research, I ordered, and downloaded, Zone Alarm for the new computer. Maybe I did not do a enough research for no where did it say that it was compatible with Vista, but nor did it say it was not compatible, but when I tried to install the anti-virus, I quickly found out it would not work. I immediately went back to Zone Alarm's website for trouble shooting help, and I found a message that said, "With Zone Alarm, we will give you a free upgrade for Vista, as soon as we develop it." As soon as we develop it! That's great! What a generous company! and that's what I wrote back to them. That unless they had that developing upgrade for me today, there product was pretty much worthless to me.
They refunded my credit card the next day.

Have fun with that - almost all programs still aren't compatible with Vista. You gotta love it, it requires you to pay money for hardware upgrades, yet it doesn't work with most of the stuff people use. Yay Microsuck!
Just get a Mac and then you won't even have to worry about viruses (except for maybe Word Macro viruses, dang you Microsoft). :)
Heidi and I are moving to Unalakleet. You'll have to look it up on a map, but basically it's North of where we are now.
Keep us posted on Vista, I'm curious if it's really worth the upgrade.
