Prunes, Squash, Sweet Potatoes, , and So Mush More

So it has been some time since we last posted an update in The Adventures of Raising Madison, but life, like usual, has been in a state of hectic chaos. Among the major milestones in Madison's life is the introduction to real food . . .well, baby food, which I guess is a pureed form of real food. Either way, it is a change from the liquid only diet. My personal favorite (in a blind taste test comparison) is the sweet potatoes, which I actually think could be used as a substitute for the filling for sweet potato pie.

Besides eating food and the new suprises in the diapers that comes with eating solids, we have started Madison in swim classes, with the goal that sometime, unlike her father, she might swim in the ocean. For those of you without children, you might wonder what kind of swimming can a 7 month old really do? If you observe one of the classes you might think it is the parents way to get back at their children. Most of the children are utterly afraid of the water, and scream entering the pool area. However, Madison seems unphased by the whole thing, and actually seems to enojoy the constant dunking and splashing. In fact with all her fat, she's a regular seal pup.

On a more serious note, we have not been writing because of all the friends and family that have visited in the last month (and continue to do so). Since mid-March, we have had Will's parents (we love you);

Uncle Van (you're the best!;

Tony and Shannon, our friends from Japan (we hope you two move here);

Bonnnie, Peter, and Nick (sorry no pictures -what happened?); and Ryan who, after spending time with Madison, is desperately seeking a wife to bare his own children!

Ryan on bath duty.

Nine down and two more to go. This month we have Chesney and then Alison. Honestly, we love that you all are visiting, and we know you need a break from the rain and snow (I sort of remember what the is like).

On that note, it looks like we will be moving soon. This is not by choice, but because our landlord has decided to move his wife, two kids, and two dogs back into this house (good luck with that), but this means we are soon to be down and out in San Diego, so join us for our next blog on the inability to find an affordable place in San Diego to live.
